We hope you find this course informative and insightful. The intent is to provide you with the training necessary to complete the cut score development activity. It is not necessary that you understand the theoretical framework behind the methods used (Nedelsky and Angoff) which you will be applying in the activity. This training shows you how to use these well-established psychometric processes in their simplest form.
As you work through the training, you will listen to some audio, read some text and answer some questions to check for understanding. It is okay if there is a section that you do not understand. After you take the short quiz at the end of each section, you can go back through that portion of the training if needed.
During this training you will learn about Minimally Competent Job Candidates. Throughout the cut score development activity, you will be asked to respond to questions as if you were a Minimally Competent Job Candidate. In the training video you will hear/see this term referred to in several ways including minimally competent student, competent candidate or competent student.
There is a final exam at the end of the training. Your final exam score will be sent to Penn State Greater Allegheny. After reviewing your score, Penn State Greater Allegheny will contact you regarding the next step in the process.
